Christmas Spirit... Spirit in Life

I know that we are still a few weeks out from Thanksgiving, but I can't help it... I LOVE CHRISTMAS! I enjoy all if it: the celebration of the life of Christ, crowds of people, eggnog lates, white lights, decorations, shopping for gifts, music, bundling up for cold weather, snow, time with family and friends, etc.

The way some people view Christmas is the same outlook people have about life!

"Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people... Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"  - Luke 1:10, 14

The angels weren't bringing a theme just for the "Holidays", they were declaring a message of truth full of great joy for everyday of our life! Many times we read this and we isolate it just to the month of December or a kids Christmas Performance.

The way some people view Christmas is the same outlook people have about life:

• Christmas gets commercialized and loses it's mean; Life becomes busy and we forget what it's all about.
• At Christmas people focus on what they want for gifts; Life is about me and what I can aquire or accomplish
• Christmas becomes a "Holiday Season" and can't wait for it to get over; Life becomes unbearable and is just trying to make through another day
• Christmas isn't enjoyed or celebrated by all people; Life isn't enjoyed or celebrated by all people
• Christmas is just for kids and as they get older they become a Scrooge forgetting the excitement it brings; Life as a kid seemed far less complicated and the hurts of life has soured their heart

Instead of just getting into the Christmas Spirit, we should get into a Spirit of Life!

Jesus reminds us of this Himself 30 years later when he says:
"I have come that you may have life, and that you may have it more abundantly." - John 10:10

Even when Jesus stood before Pilate prior to His death, Jesus says:
"For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth." - John 18:37

The message of Christmas is the gift of Jesus Christ; the message of Jesus Christ is about a life of great joy! Go beyond having a Merry Christmas, or Happy Holiday; get into a Spirit of Life...
