TGIS - Thank God It's Sunday!

Sunday is my favorite day of the week... and it's not because of football!

I'm anxious to get back to Acts 9 and look at our GET UP series. Last week we looked at how the early church had a difficult time embracing the fact that Saul the 'slaughterer' (he got this name for killing so many Christians), could ever become a fully devoted, TRUE follower of Christ. In essence, they said... "Saul, NO WAY!"

In sports, I'm a big fan of under-dog, those who people say have little to no chance at winning. Right now the LA Angels are playing the NY Yankees (its an amazing game...in the 13th inning), and my rally cap is for the Angels! I think God loves to work this way too (and obviously He's and Angels fan), because I once was a NO WAY...  Thank God that He doesn't have a NO WAY list!

So here's a sneak peak for tomorrow: as the church we must be people who have a spirit and heart that says YES WAY, like Ananias. At first he said NO WAY... but he eventually said YES WAY, even to the point where he goes to Saul and calls him "brother".  It's one thing to believe that God and reach the NO WAY people, but it's another thing for us to say YES WAY and do be actively involved.

Then there's Barnabas - the 'son of encouragement'. Who not only said YES WAY, but litterally believed in Saul enough to embrace him as an apostle and travel all over Asia Minor preaching. Barnabas was a God given, Super-natural relationship to Saul; meaning that Barnabas was placed strategically by God in the life of Saul/Paul, to help fulfill the destiny that God had planned for Paul.

I don't just want to be a YES WAY person, I want to be a Barnabas, one who encourages others and comes along side others to fulfill their life's potential and destiny!

Can't wait till tomorrow... TGIS!
